Mental Health

We provide life-changing treatment for young men struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other serious mental health issues.

Mental Health Treatment for Young Men

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), one in five U.S. adults experiences mental illness in a given year, and one in five young people (13 to 18) suffers from a severe mental health disorder at some point in their lives. For many PACE clients, the excitement of emerging adulthood is displaced by mental health challenges or dual diagnoses that infiltrate employment, school, relationships, spiritual development, independent living and self-care.

When life comes unhinged during a behavioral health crisis, our highly credentialed clinical staff can help. The PACE Mental Health Program provides customized residential and extended care programs that help clients navigate mood disorders and life obstacles arising during college and young adulthood. Incorporating our proven treatment philosophy into inpatient programming and specialized clinical tracks, PACE integrates research practices from the psychological, medical, social, familial and self-help communities.

Benefits of Our Huntington Beach Mental Health Program

PACE’s internationally recognized addiction treatment center offers evidence-based therapies and clinical treatments that help young men (1) identify specific recovery goals, and (2) achieve these goals while preparing for productive, independent living. Our clients are complex beings, so we use a multi-pronged approach to treat their mental health conditions. Expertise includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and processing (EMDR). Each of these clinical practices is proven effective for the treatment of various psychiatric disorders and is tailored to a resident’s specific diagnosis.

Additional features of the PACE Mental Health Program include:

Pioneers in Mental Health & Dual-Diagnosis Treatment

A staff of master’s- and doctorate-level clinicians, psychiatrists and clinical psychologists administers PACE’s internationally recognized mental health treatments. With decades of seasoned expertise and personal experience with behavioral health and substance misuse disorders, PACE’s staff shares the philosophy that effective treatment must target underlying issues of accountability, self-esteem and self-worth to bring about long-term change.

At PACE, our gender-specific programs help male clients cope with the unique societal and personal pressures placed on them. Rather than encouraging residents to hide or minimize their feelings, we create an environment where young men can express their doubts, fears, guilt, shame or sadness in a compassionate, judgment-free zone. PACE is a brotherhood of men sharing common goals of managing mental health conditions and healing from trauma.
